Sourcing capacity is a vetting problem wearing a prospecting costume.
Finding carriers is easy — the census is free. Finding carriers you can safely put a load on is the work. HAULVANE ranks new and growing authorities and scores out anything with an authority, insurance or safety problem, using the same federal record you would have had to check anyway.
What ranks a carrier for brokers
These are the weights the scoring engine actually applies to this profile — not a description of them. Every signal is derived from a federal file and carries the date it changed.
| Signal | Weight | Why it means something to you |
|---|---|---|
| NEW_AUTH | +100 | New MC number — not yet committed to another network. |
| FLEET_GROWTH | +74 | Adding units, therefore looking for freight to fill them. |
| MILEAGE_HIGH | +40 | Running miles already. |
This profile carries the hardest negatives in the product, and that is the point. A suspension or lapsed filing scores −100, a conditional rating −100, a BASIC alert −70, a recent crash −50. Any carrier with a lapsed filing is dropped outright.
What a row is worth
Gross margin on modeled annual load volume — about 46 loads per truck-year at $310 net.
Every row carries this estimate so the queue can be ranked by money rather than by recency. The model is stated openly in the scoring documentation — it is an estimate, and it is shown as one.
Questions
Is this a carrier-vetting tool?
It is a sourcing queue that refuses to surface carriers you should not haul with. For a full vetting record on a single carrier, the federal sources are linked on every row.
Why score new authorities highest?
Because they have not yet been signed by everyone else. A carrier six months into its authority is already on a dozen broker lists.
